It has been confirmed that some lease fraudsters, including Kwon, the so-called God of Villa, who bought more than 3,400 houses, were excluded from the list of "malicious renters" created by the government to prevent lease fraud.

It is also pointed out as a problem that the Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation, HUG, paid back on behalf of Kwon and the amount of money that has yet to be recovered exceeds 130 billion won.

Reporter Lee Hyun-jung reports.

The apartment in Oryu-dong, Seoul, was owned by Kwon, the so-called "God of Villa."

It's currently up for auction, but the tenant can't leave the house because he can't get the deposit back.In this way, Mr.
and an accomplice bought more than 3,400 houses and committed a lease fraud.

It is estimated that there are about 300 victims.

The Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation, Hug, is releasing a list of "malicious renters" who have a history of habitually stealing deposits to prevent the recurrence of such damage.

But there was a gap.

This is a site where you can directly check whether the landlord is a 'malicious lessor'.

If you type your name, it shows you not only personal information but also the amount and duration of the deposit you took off, but if you search for the name of Kwon, the god of villas, nothing comes out.

The revision of the Housing and Urban Fund Act, which required the disclosure of the list of malicious renters, was implemented in September last year.

Prior to this, if Hug paid back the deposit instead, it is not subject to disclosure.

As a result, six out of the top 10 "Jeonseguaranteed Multi-House Debtors" who not only Kwon but Hug paid back the deposit more than three times on their behalf were not searched.

["God of Villa" Fraud victim: (The list) is a very important, crucial reason to sign a contract. I don't think it makes sense that Kwon has more than 3,000 homes, but it doesn't appear on the list of bad landlords.]

It is pointed out that tenants need supplementary measures as they believe in the list and sign contracts.

[Son Myung-soo / Democratic Party of Korea National Assembly Member: Practically focusing on tenant protection.... I think it is necessary to use state resources more efficiently to achieve the purpose of the system.

In addition, out of the 135 billion won deposit that Hug paid back on behalf of Kwon, only 3.4 billion won was recovered, or only 3%.Of Hug's subrogation payments of KRW 560 billion to six 'unpublic' malicious landlords, including

, the amount recovered was KRW 26 billion, which is less than 5%.

There seems to be an urgent need for measures to increase the effectiveness of claims for reimbursement against them, whether the national finance will only fill the stomach of malicious renters.
