The Incheon District Court sentenced YouTuber A, who was put on trial for installing illegal cameras at 40 voting and ticket offices across the country ahead of the April 10 general elections, to one year in prison, two years of probation, and one year of suspension of qualification.

The court explained the reason for the sentencing that A was admitted to break into the building and steal electricity, and it is difficult to see the recording of conversations of non-public figures as a legitimate act according to social wisdom.

Seven jurors at the Public Participation Tribunal pleaded guilty to A's charge of breaking into the building and unanimously convicted him of violating the Communications Secret Protection Act.

At the same time, he expressed his sentencing opinion that A should be sentenced to one year in prison, two years of probation, and one year of suspension of qualification.

Earlier, A was put on trial for breaking into 40 places, including early voting centers in 10 cities, installing illegal cameras and secretly recording conversations with government officials ahead of the April 10 general elections.
