◆ Announcer Park Gui-bin (hereinafter referred to as Park Gui-bin): A white paper on life, we are with Incheon City today. There is good news for the islanders living on Incheon Island. There are more than a few inconveniences between islands living on the island, such as transportation, hospitals, and even purchasing daily necessities. Incheon Metropolitan City, along with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, aims to relieve some of this inconvenience to the islanders. It is said that he started a business that delivers by drone. Let's find out more about it. Let's talk with Lee Sang-wook, head of the aviation industry team at Incheon Metropolitan City Hall.Hello, team leader.

◇Lee Sang-wook, head of the aviation industry team at Incheon Metropolitan City Hall (hereinafter referred to as Lee Sang-wook): Yes, how are you? I'm Lee Sangwook.

◆Park Gui-bin: You are in the aviation department of Incheon Metropolitan City. What do you do in the aviation department?

◇Lee Sang-wook: Ordinary citizens know about Incheon International Airport, but I think it's unfamiliar that Incheon Metropolitan City Hall has an organization called the Aviation Department. However, Incheon has this global infrastructure called Incheon Airport, and through this, the aviation department is now playing a role in making these roles, from industry, culture, more recently tourism, and industrial business, competitive in the region along with the airport. For example, industrially, when you get on an airplane, you don't just fly up, but you do maintenance and do things for safety. Things like that, an aviation-related industrial complex, or today's theme, drones, how citizens and residents can live conveniently and safely, and flying taxis that have been talked about a lot recently. I think about how to introduce air transportation in the city center, and I'm working on the safety of citizens and creating jobs.

◆Park Gui-bin: Yes, you're doing so many important things. I'm talking to Lee Sang-wook, the team leader in the aviation department of Incheon Metropolitan City. You said that you started a drone delivery business. What kind of business is this?

◇Lee Sang-wook: If you look at drones, the general public usually sees that drones are used by some small drones for filming or as weapons that are often used in the war in Ukraine these days. In fact, this time, the government is pushing for a project called commercialization of K-drone delivery to islanders by drone. When we thought about which one would be most helpful to residents when delivering by drone, the island residents do not receive benefits such as same-day delivery services provided by large supermarkets such as E-Mart and Homeplus just because they live on the island. So now, to improve this inconvenience, there is a large supermarket called Deokjeokdo Island. It will be a business that targets 250 household items here and delivers them to 10 nearby areas, including Soya Island, Jawoldo Island, Daeijak Island, and Soyijak Island. To put it simply, if you say it's a delivery platform business, you can understand it.

◆Park Gui-bin: He said the business name is K-drone shipping commercialization. That's why they deliver daily life through drones. Just by hearing that, the islanders will be very convenient. That's what I'm thinking. But in order to revitalize this business, I think you have to prepare a lot of things, so are there any special benefits that are provided to islanders?

◇ Lee Sang-wook: Yes, that's right. Since it is not easy to deliver to the island by drone, it is not easy to operate four days from Tuesday to Friday in the beginning, and because of the limitation of drone delivery, it is now delivered to my neighborhood, not in front of my house. So, in order for us to be more active, our purpose is to improve the inconvenience of people living on the island. So we have a 1+1 event for each day of the week. And we also offer souvenirs if you order delivery for the first time. And another thing is that unlike the delivery app on land, we support you to use the delivery fee for free.

◆Park Gwi-bin: I think you'll like this a lot because they do it for free and without shipping. How can islanders use this service?

◇Lee Sang-wook: Since this is a kind of delivery app, isn't it a daily delivery service that delivers daily necessities rather than just delivering food? So in terms of daily delivery, it's like a same-day delivery service at a large supermarket. You can download a delivery app called 'Oliver' on your phone and order more than 250 products that you can order through that app. However, since it is delivered by drone, one delivery is limited to 3kg. So if it's over 3kg, we have to deliver it separately. And if you look at the situation of the island residents, there are people who are elderly, and if it's a little difficult for them to use this app, if your children order it like this, they will hear your children's voices and your children will be small, but I think it will be a small filial piety that helps your parents.

◆Park Gui-bin: To use the drone service, you can download the drone delivery app called Upload to the smartphone of the app. The Incheon Metropolitan Government is now using drones to deliver them to the islanders. You're using it in various fields related to drones, right?

◇ Lee Sang-wook: Yes, that's right. It's a little strange because it's been on the war news a lot recently. In fact, drones can be very useful in the lives of our citizens with one piece of equipment. For example, in entertainment programs, drones cannot be left out as broadcasting equipment, right? As such, we are managing the safety of tidal flats in the filming field or among the nursing services we have been doing since last year. Last year, there were people who died while digging clams called Mouido Island and Yeongheungdo Island tidal flats. So, we used drones with Incheon Coast Guard to use infrared or broadcast equipment at night to ask anyone to come out, and no one had an accident this year. And recently, mosquitoes have been worrying all year round, right? Malaria is spreading a lot, and they are in charge of relieving harmful pests such as mosquitoes. And we are actively using it to manage any facilities in places such as parks.

◆Park Gwibin: I see. That's all for today. Until now, I was Lee Sang-wook, head of the aviation industry team in Incheon Metropolitan City. Thank you.

◇ Lee Sang-wook: Yes. Thank you.
