Kim Ho-il, president of the Korea Senior Citizens' Association, was handed over to the prosecution on charges of campaigning against members of the Senior Citizens' Association during the 22nd general election.

The Seongdong Police Station in Seoul sent Chairman Kim without detention on the 27th of last month on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act.

Chairman Kim is accused of demanding that his younger brother Kim Hyo-jin, chairman of the Korea Institute for Applied Statistics, vote for the elderly welfare party, which ran as a proportional representative ahead of the 22nd general election in March.

In June, the police launched an investigation into Chairman Kim at the complaint of the Seoul Metropolitan Election Commission.
