In February and March, when doctors left the medical field, the number of patients who died in the intensive care unit increased by 375 from a year ago.

According to the data received by Kim Yoon of the Democratic Party of Korea from the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service of the National Assembly's Health and Welfare Committee, 3,548 people died out of 28,665 people admitted to intensive care units in February this year, with a 12.4% mortality rate.

This is 1.1% higher than the death rate in February last year, and 331 more people died this year.

The death toll stood at 3,644 in March this year, with a 12.1% death rate compared with March last year, with 44 deaths and a 0.9%p rise in the death rate.

The increase in the death rate in intensive care units is likely to have been affected by the fact that doctors left the medical field in groups in protest of the government's announcement of an increase in medical schools, but other factors such as temperature and the epidemic of infectious diseases are also believed to have been combined.
