The arrest deadline for trot singer Kim Ho-joong, who was put on trial for fleeing after causing a drunk driving accident, has been extended to December.

The Seoul Central District Court decided to renew the arrest deadline for Kim, who was handed over to trial on charges of dangerous driving injuries on the 11th.

Accordingly, Kim is expected to be tried in custody until the first trial's sentencing date, which will be held on the 13th of next month.

It has not yet been decided whether to cite bail, which Kim applied for earlier due to worsening ankle pain.

Kim is accused of driving while drinking and driving in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at around 11:40 p.m. in May, when he violated the central line and collided with a taxi on the opposite side of the road and ran away.

Since then, he has been arrested and charged with changing the driver and asking the manager to give false information.

Kim, who denied driving under the influence of alcohol, admitted to the crime 10 days after the accident, but the prosecution excluded the charge of driving under the influence of alcohol because it was difficult to prove it because the blood alcohol level could not be measured at the time of driving.
