A former Gyeonggi-do lawmaker was handed over to the prosecution on charges of receiving about 10 million won from a company representative who wanted to be selected for a state subsidy project and delivering it to a public official working on related tasks.
Suwon Nambu Police Station in Gyeonggi Province sent a former Gyeonggi-do lawmaker without detention in August on charges of delivering bribes to a third party after receiving an illegal request.
In addition, B, the CEO of an agricultural company corporation, was also handed over to the prosecution on charges of asking a third party for a favor.
Mr. A is accused of receiving about 10 million won in cash from Mr. B in December last year while serving as a member of the Gyeonggi-do Provincial Council and delivering it to a senior official belonging to the Gyeonggi-do Provincial Office.
According to a police investigation, Mr. B requested that his agricultural company corporation be selected as a target for a project operated by a subsidy from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
