Doctors and hospital officials have been arrested for taking illegal rebates from Korea Pharmaceutical.
The Seoul Central District Court issued an arrest warrant for a doctor A and a hospital official B, who were charged with violating the medical law, saying there is a possibility of eliminating evidence.
, but the warrants of two other doctors for which the arrest warrants were also requested were rejected.
They are accused of pocketing 420 million won in total by receiving a certain percentage of the sales as back money in exchange for prescribing Koryo Pharmaceutical products.
It is the first time since the investigation began that a doctor suspected of illegal rebates has been arrested.
Earlier, the police also applied for an arrest warrant for two executives and employees of Korea Pharmaceutical on charges of violating the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, but it was rejected.
