While public anger over the so-called "sand school violence" involving the children of Seongnam City Council members in Gyeonggi Province has not subsided, parents have staged a recent wreath-laying protest condemning school violence.

Today (23rd), a long line of condolence flowers stood out on the sidewalk in front of an elementary school in Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do.

The words "Child Bundang mothers will be with you," "Respect and resign," "School violence out," "Apologies until you are forgiven," and "You shouldn't let us learn an unfair world."

Previously, parents in Bundang planned the protest through group chat rooms. Parents emphasized that "curses or excessive slander are prohibited, and understated phrases should be used along with warm words of support."

Through this protest, parents are demanding criticism of soft disciplinary action, resignation of Seongnam City Council member A, a parent of one of the perpetrators, and recovery of the victim's healing.

However, some citizens shouted, "What did you do in front of the school, who died, and why do you put this harmony in front of the school?" and there was a commotion at one point.

Earlier, the child of the city council member was referred to the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education's School Violence Countermeasures Review Committee for the April-June school violence incident.

According to the Office of Education, four students, including the children of Councilman A, committed habitual violence against one student. They called the victim to the park, fed him snacks mixed with sand and crushed him for game penalties.

City Councilman A has offered to defect from the people's power, and local residents are discussing whether to hold a recent flower-and-flower protest in front of the Seongnam City Council in the future.
