The government actually lost the 'pro-Japanese group land lawsuit'...finalization of the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court ruled that it is virtually impossible for the government to recover the land from the descendants of Lee Hae-seung in pro-Japanese group.

The Supreme Court's en banc confirmed the original ruling in a lawsuit filed by the government against Grand Hilton Hotel Chairman Lee Woo-young, a descendant of Lee Hae-seung.

Earlier, the Seoul High Court ruled in a lawsuit filed by the government to recover 138 parcels of land of Lee Hae-seung in pro-Japanese group that Chairman Lee was obliged to return only one parcel of 4㎡ to the government, but the government's loss was virtually confirmed.

The first and second trials issued a ruling to the effect that it is difficult to retroactively apply the revised pro-Japanese property attribution law to cases that have been finalized, and the Supreme Court also ruled that there was no misunderstanding of the law in the judgment of the lower court.
