Please tell us first what position President Yoon Suk Yeol's side has expressed with reporters today.

[Reporter]
Lawyer Seok Dong-hyun, who is participating in the formation of the Yoon Suk Yeol President's lawyers, met with reporters one after another today to answer questions.Lawyer

said he cannot admit that the declaration of emergency martial law is a civil war, and President Yoon also expressed his intention to stand up to it, whether it is an investigation or impeachment.

I'll listen to it myself.

[Seok Dong-hyun / Attorney (Yoon Suk Yeol Presidential Legal Adviser): I have already apologized to the public for something that shocked them. (But) I have a clear and confident position on various issues and issues that will be controversial in the future..]

President Yoon then explained that he judged the political situation as an emergency when martial law was declared, and that he expected President Yoon to express his belief himself when the Constitutional Court's trial begins.

Regarding the alleged arrest of key figures, including politicians, which will be a watershed moment in proving the charges of rebellion, the president denied that he had "never even taken out the body of the arrest."

However, lawyer Seok avoided an immediate answer on whether to respond to the request for attendance by the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit, saying that the lawyers will answer in the future. Some analysts say that President Yoon

is engaged in an all-round public opinion war over his public stance to the media.

Let's look at the prosecution.

Yesterday, we decided to hand over President Yoon's case to the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit, but the backlash from the prosecution remains?

[Reporter]
Yes, the prosecution, which is continuing its investigation into the emergency martial law case, decided to transfer the case of President Yoon and former Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min to the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit yesterday.

The prosecution plans to organize the materials to be handed over to the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit and continue working-level consultations with the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit.

In the meantime, the special prosecution is continuing related investigations by confiscating and searching the National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters Planning and Coordinating Office.

As the investigation has been conducted with strong will, the internal backlash against the decision was also read yesterday, and a special headquarters official expressed displeasure, saying the investigation team's opposition to the decision was clear.

Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung also sent a lengthy letter to the prosecutors last night, apparently considering the backlash.

President Shim decided to transfer the case with the judgment that there should be no controversy over the law and procedure, and it was found that he emphasized that the special prosecution will eventually make the final investigation and decision if the cases are handed over to the prosecution.

Even if we go through an investigation by the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit, we have to hand over the case to the prosecution in order to prosecute President Yoon, but is there a possibility that we will go to the special prosecution rather than the prosecution?

[Reporter]
Yes, the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit does not have the authority to prosecute, so it should investigate President Yoon and eventually hand it over to the prosecution, but the case may go to the special prosecution, not the prosecution.

If the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit investigates President Yoon and quickly requests an arrest warrant to secure a new person before the launch of the special prosecution, the case is expected to be transferred to the prosecution.

This is because under the Criminal Procedure Act, if the suspect is not prosecuted within 20 days after arrest, the suspect must be released.

However, if the investigation into the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit is delayed and a special prosecutor is launched in the meantime, the special prosecutor, not the prosecution, is expected to have virtually all investigation and prosecution powers.

In the end, the speed of the investigation by the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit and the timing of the launch of the special prosecutor are expected to be variables in the future investigation related to President Yoon.

So far, I'm YTN Lee Kyung-guk at the Special Investigation Headquarters of the Prosecution Service.
