The Constitutional Investigation Corporation will be arrested tomorrow for violating the Political Fund Act.

Justice Jeon Sung-bae, who is suspected of receiving hundreds of millions of dollars in money and valuables in exchange for local election nomination, will be reviewed again for the arrest warrant.

The Seoul Southern District Court will conduct an interrogation of Jeon's suspect before his arrest at 2 p.m. tomorrow (9th).

Jeon is accused of promising to nominate Yeongcheon Mayor of Gyeongsangbuk-do during the 2018 local elections and receiving 150 million won worth of money from a candidate.

The prosecution arrested Jeon urgently last month and applied for an arrest warrant, but the court rejected the request, saying that the timing, size, and method of receiving illegal political funds were not clear.

The prosecution explained that it supplemented the reason for the dismissal through a reinforcing investigation, and requested an arrest warrant again after further confirmation of facts about the reason for the arrest, such as the destruction of evidence and the fear of fleeing.

Jeon is also suspected of intervening in interests by using his close friendship with the Yoon Suk Yeol president and his wife.

In particular, there is a possibility that the investigation could be expanded across the political world as the prosecution secures and analyzes Jeon's cell phone and one tablet PC.
