Rome Termini station power cut...a train disruption

2024.10.03 오전 01:23
A power outage occurred on a section between two major stations in the Italian capital, Rome, which disrupted train operations.

Local media reported that the section between Termini Station and Tiburtina Station in Rome was cut off at around 6:20 am local time on the 2nd.

Italy's railway infrastructure management company said it was investigating the cause, saying it had a problem with the electric room that supplies power to the section.

The accident, which occurred at two major intersections connecting Italy's north and south, almost paralyzed the entire train service.

Although train services gradually resumed, trains at Termini, Rome's hub station, were delayed by up to four hours from time.

More than 100 train services have been canceled, and more than 40 trains have been delayed for more than an hour as of noon on the 2nd, the Ansah news agency said.

Opposition parties have called on the government and state rail company Trenitalia to come up with measures to prevent a recurrence.
