Local media reported that the majority of the respondents, 70% of the respondents, approved the exit poll of the referendum on Kazakhstan's introduction of nuclear power plants in Central Asia.

According to Tass News Agency and others on the 7th local time, 69.8% of the respondents voted in favor of the referendum exit survey conducted the day before.

Exit polls by Kazakhstan's largest political party and an agency under the ruling party also showed 72.3% in favor and 27.7% against it.

Currently, the Kazakh government has decided to phase out pollution-causing thermal power plants and push for the introduction of nuclear power plants, and a referendum will decide whether to introduce nuclear power plants.

Earlier, AFP and other foreign media predicted that the referendum would be in favor and said that South Korea, China, France and Russia are competing to win orders to build nuclear power plants near Lake Balhashi, Kazakhstan.
