As the water crisis accelerates, experts warn that more than half of global food production could be at risk within the next 25 years.

The World Water Economy Committee made the announcement in its report 'The Economics of Water: Evaluation of Water Circulation as a Global Public Goods' released on the 17th.According to the

report, more than 2 billion people in the world do not have access to safe drinking water, and about 3.6 billion people, or 44% of the world's population, do not have access to safe sanitation.

In addition, 1,000 children die every day because they do not have access to safe water, and freshwater demand is expected to exceed supply by 40 percent by 2030.

The crisis is getting worse, and without countermeasures, the water problem is expected to reduce GDP in high-income countries by an average of 8% and low-income countries by up to 15% by 2050.

In its report, the commission predicted that half of the world's population is already facing water shortages, and that number will rise due to worsening climate crises.
