U.S. Vice President Harris said justice was served when Israel removed Hamas chief Shinwar and stressed the need to end the war.

With the situation in the Middle East emerging as the last external variable in the U.S. presidential election, the key is whether it can prevent Israel from attacking Iran before the presidential election.

Harris, who arrived in Wisconsin for a campaign rally, said justice had been served for Israel's removal of Sinwar.

[Camala Harris/U.S. Vice President: Israel today confirmed that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar has died. Justice was served, and as a result, the United States, Israel, and the whole world were better.

The death of Sinwar, the mastermind of last year's October 7 terror attacks, has now stressed the need to end the war in Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is calling for a cease-fire in the Israeli-Hamas war amid the possibility of attacking Iran before the U.S. presidential election due to reports that he recently approved a target for retaliatory attacks on Iran.

U.S. President Biden says Hamas has lost its terror capability and that he will now discuss ways to end the war with Netanyahu.

The U.S. State Department also stressed that it will double its efforts to bring the hostages held by Hamas home and rebuild life in Gaza.

[Mash Miller/U.S. State Department spokesman] We see an opportunity for Sinwar to be removed from the battlefield, removed from Hamas leadership, and we want to seize that opportunity.]

Vice President Harris, who was anxious about the bad news in the Middle East, put out the fire urgently.

That's because any full-scale war between Iran and Israel ahead of the presidential election would likely cost Arab voters votes in rival states, including Michigan, as well as economic repercussions such as soaring oil prices.

Former President Trump, who also mentioned the possibility of Israel hitting Iran's nuclear facilities, has yet to respond.

The White House also stressed that it has had constructive communication about the possibility of Israeli retaliation against Iran.

With the death of Sinwar, the possibility of negotiating a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and whether the imminent attack on Iran can be stopped has emerged as a major external variable in the presidential election.
