Air strikes on evacuation schools in Gaza...At least 17 people died.

At least 17 people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes at a school where evacuees stay in a refugee camp in Nuseirat, central Gaza, Palestinian hospital officials say.

Ten of the dead were women and children, with 42 injured, the hospital explained.

In response to the airstrikes, the Israeli military said it had hit Hamas command headquarters set up at the school and had taken various steps to reduce civilian damage.

Israeli forces have recently attacked schools used as evacuation centers for refugees, saying they are targeting Hamas members hiding among civilians.
