Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who offered a large prize to encourage conservatives to register voters in the U.S., is pushing ahead with the prize money payment despite warnings from the U.S. Department of Justice, CNN and others reported.

On the 24th local time, Musk awarded 1 million dollars and 1.39 billion won in our money to two registered voters from Michigan and Wisconsin, respectively.

The prize was awarded again a day after the U.S. Department of Justice warned it could violate federal laws that prohibit paying for voter registration.

Earlier on the 19th, Musk announced a plan to pay the prize through a random lottery at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania and has been announcing winners every day.

Political funds he established to support former President Trump's election. He selects one person every day and pays $1 million to those who participate in the ongoing petition.

However, eligibility to participate in the petition was limited to those who registered as voters in seven competing states, including Arizona, Michigan, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Musk did not give out winners on the day of the Justice Department's warning, but announced two the next day, the 24th.

Musk has also continued to donate campaign funds since he publicly announced his support for former President Trump.
