In Shanghai, China's economic capital, a ban on cosplay was imposed ahead of Halloween this year.

However, citizens continued to "guerrilla cosplay" against the crackdown and shouted "freedom."

Three young people wearing Huawei's three-tier folding smartphone-shaped battery are being mobbed by cameras.

Actress Fan Bingbing, who disappeared in 2018 amid allegations of tax evasion and sexual payment rumors, also appeared.

They come out to the streets to enjoy cosplay ahead of Halloween, but they don't go long, so they get caught one after another.

[Cosplay Participant (last 26th): I was caught by the police and went to remove my makeup, and it was really scary. If you don't remove your makeup, where are you going to take me?.]

The timing of the words sung by the onlookers is exquisite when the police drag a person dressed as a cockroach.

[Shanghai residents (last 26): Why on earth are you saying it's all my fault? (It's over, I'm going to drink tea!)

At the end, "I'm going to drink tea" is also a sarcastic slang for the public security authorities' summoning investigation.

Shanghai Halloween last year, when complaints and satire erupted after the abolition of zero COVID-19.

However, this year, a ban on cosplay was imposed, and police were deployed to major parks to control crowds.

[Shanghai Police: Controlling crowds. (Isn't Halloween next week?) There are people who come in advance, so continue until next week's Halloween...]

Citizens moved places, engaged in "guerrilla cosplay" and mocked the public authority.

"Freedom!"

Instead of cosplay subject to crackdown, they resist by putting satirizing youth unemployment on a blank sheet of paper.

In the street, the word "Halloween martial law" is heard in conjunction with the first anniversary of former Prime Minister Li Keqiang, who died last year.
