Seventeen people were rescued after a Chinese cargo ship sank while Taiwan was put into an emergency response system due to the influence of the 21st typhoon 'Kong Lei'.

According to local media, a Chinese cargo ship carrying three cranes from the northern port of Jilin at around 11 a.m. on the 29th was swept away by waves in the 4.4km north-northwest direction of Yeryugot in Shinbei City due to Typhoon Kongrey.The Taiwan Coast Guard, which was dispatched after receiving a report from
