The Korean Women's Basketball Federation, WKBL, has appointed former KB coach Ahn Deok-soo as the new secretary-general.
WKBL held the 28th 4th board meeting at the Dalgaebi Conference House in Jung-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 14th and passed the appointment of the secretary-general.
Former coach Ahn, who played for Samsung in professional basketball from Kyushu Industrial University in Japan, served as secretary-general of the University Basketball Federation from 2000 to 2007, then coached Chansong Cosmetics in Japan's women's basketball and took the helm of KB in 2016.
He led KB to the championship in the 2018-19 season, and after resigning as a coach, he has been a commentator since 2021.
The new Secretary-General Ahn Deok-soo's term will run from February next year to June 2027.The new president
said, "I have a heavy responsibility to oversee the practice of women's professional basketball at an important time," adding, "We will do our best to expand the popularity and base of women's professional basketball based on our leadership experience."
