The 18th typhoon 'Kuraton' has weakened significantly as it passes through Taiwan.

The typhoon is expected to turn inland into a tropical low-pressure area within today, so it is not expected to have a direct impact on Korea.

However, after the weekend, rain forecasts are also available in Korea on Sunday and Monday.

We will connect with reporters to find out the typhoon and the weather forecast for the weekend. Reporter Kim Minkyung!

The typhoon is expected to weaken to a tropical depression by the afternoon?

[Reporter]
Yes, Typhoon No. 18 'Kuraton' is traveling at a very slow speed of 4 km/h on land in southwest Taiwan.

Currently, the central wind speed is 19 meters per second, and the power is not strong.

By the afternoon, it is expected to move a little further northwest and weaken to a tropical depression on land about 200 kilometers southwest of Taiwan.

Contrary to what was feared, typhoons will not directly affect our country
The impact of the
typhoon rain cloud is not expected to be significant.

I'll also look into the weather over the weekend.

Autumn festivals are scheduled everywhere, including a fireworks festival in Yeouido, Seoul, this weekend, so is there any news?

[Reporter]
Yes, until tomorrow, the weekend, the whole country will be clear without a rain forecast.

However, the morning temperature is expected to drop below 10 degrees inland by tomorrow.

The daily temperature difference will be very large as the temperature is expected to rise to around 20 degrees Celsius due to the influence of the clear and strong sunlight during the day.

From the day after tomorrow, which is Sunday, Jeju Island and the south will be affected by rain clouds little by little.

First of all, there will be little precipitation on Sunday, with 5 to 40mm in Jeju Island and 5 to 20mm in the south.

However, caution is needed as Jeju Island and the South Sea are expected to have high waves of up to 4m with rather strong winds.

Regarding weather variables after the weekend, the Korea Meteorological Administration plans to hold a briefing a little later at 11 a.m. and deliver them in detail.
