In an audit of the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee in Chungcheongbuk-do, opposition lawmakers continued to criticize the response to the Osong disaster in July last year.

Opposition lawmakers pointed out that North Chungcheong Province Governor Kim Young-hwan's response to the Osong disaster was poor, questioning Kim's whereabouts, including why he went to Seoul the day before the disaster and why he arrived late at the scene on the day of the disaster.

In particular, he criticized Gov. Kim for arriving late at the site after lunch on the day of the Osong disaster, saying that he went to Seoul even though the emergency stage was issued.

In response, Governor Kim refuted that he arrived late at the scene because he was reported to have no problems at the time.

After the parliamentary audit of North Chungcheong Province, lawmakers toured the Gungpyeong 2 underground roadway where the Osong disaster occurred.
