The 5th World Urban Forum, which seeks a sustainable urban model, opened at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 1 in Goyang City for a two-day visit.Under the theme of
to strengthen the city and sustain the future', the forum will discuss the direction of cities in the rapidly changing socio-economic environment such as the climate crisis and disputes between countries.
The forum will bring together experts and citizens from various fields to share and discuss ideas for sustainable urban development.
On the 21st, the first day, a local tour of Goyang City was held for foreign speakers and major guests, and on the 22nd, full-fledged forum events and side events will be held.
In the keynote lecture, urban planning expert Alan Malak, senior researcher at Community Progress at U.S. non-profit organizations, and sociologist Sam Richards, professor of sociology at Pennsylvania State University, will present the themes of "Adaptability in a Changing World" and "Urban Conflict and the Future of Korean Cities," respectively.
