30 planes open in the air, suspended for injuries

In May last year, a man in his 30s who opened the plane's emergency door ahead of landing was sentenced to probation in a case further charged with injuries to 15 passengers.

The Daegu District Court sentenced 34-year-old A, who was handed over to trial, to one and a half years in prison and suspended for two years, and ordered probation and mental illness treatment.

The court explained that A was mentally and physically weak due to mental illness at the time of the incident and that he paid a large amount of damages to the airline.

Mr. A, who opened the emergency door of the aircraft at an altitude of 224 meters in May last year, was first charged with violating the Aviation Security Act and damaging property, and was sentenced to three years in prison and five years of probation,
