Polish media reported that the Polish government has rejected Ukraine's request to support its fighters because it has no weapons to give.
Poland's defence minister, Vwadysław Kosiniakkamysi, told a news conference that the Polish security situation had "supported everything possible" within the limits allowed.
He added that Poland's security will be considered first in the process of providing weapons to Ukraine, adding that "Ukraine's criticism of why it does not give more fighter jets and other equipment is unfounded."
Poland provided Ukraine with a significant number of ex-Soviet MiG-29 fighter jets at the beginning of the war.
Also in July, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said he could consider providing additional aid to Ukraine if he could replace his current Soviet-made warplanes with new ones.
However, the F-35 fighter jets Poland ordered from Lockheed Martin in the U.S. are scheduled to be delivered from 2026, making it difficult to support additional fighters.
Polish President Andrzej Duda visited South Korea last month and revealed to the media that he had refused Ukraine's request to hand over Korean weapons.
