The prosecution, which is investigating the "suspected intervention in the nomination," is set to arrest and indict Myung Tae-kyun and former lawmaker Kim Young-sun today.

The two are accused of exchanging 76 million won in exchange for nominations in the 2022 by-election of Uichang members of the National Assembly in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province.

The prosecution will first indict the two on charges of violating the Political Fund Act and continue to investigate further suspicions.

The prosecution plans to continue its investigation into allegations of meddling in the nomination, including allegations of manipulation of opinion polls by the Future Korea Research Institute, and intervention in the designation of Changwon's second national industrial complex.
