The Rural Development Administration held the "2024 Agricultural Science and Technology Performance Sharing Contest" and awarded 28 outstanding research cases that shone through the year.

The grand prize for cooperation in the agricultural technology category was selected as "Let's also make Jeonbankbook smart" in which central and local rural promotion agencies and universities collaborated to solve abnormal fermentation problems such as flavor reduction and production yield reduction in traditional markets.

In the individual category, three awards were awarded: "Building a foundation for high-value-added processing industries such as medical food and alternative foods using food crops," "Development and commercialization of ship export technology tailored to K-agricultural products," and "Development of short-term aging technology for radio wave beef."

Among this year's achievements were Pakistan's disease-free seed potato production system and the development of high-yielding varieties derived from unified rice to solve food shortages in Africa.

Kwon Jae-han, head of the Rural Development Administration, said, "Public-private cooperation should be further strengthened in the agricultural sector to promote convergence with advanced technologies."
