Yoon Sang-hyun, CEO of CJ ENM, said he will continue to invest more than 1 trillion won a year in the contents business.

The CJ Movie Forum was held at CGV Centum City in Haeundae-gu, Busan, where the 29th Busan International Film Festival will be held today (4th). The movie forum was attended by CJ ENM CEO Yoon Sang-hyun, CJ CGV's head of management innovation Lee Dong-hyun, Studio Dragon CEO Jang Kyung-ik, CJ ENM's content distribution business manager Seo Jang-ho, CJ ENM's director of film business Ko Kyung-beom, and up-and-coming creators Yoo Jae-sun, Han Joon-hee, and Jeon Go-woon.

In a keynote speech ahead of the full-fledged forum, CEO Yoon said, "Uncertainty in the film industry is growing, but it will contribute to the challenge and success of the global market so that the creator's imagination can shine as the best work," adding, "We will continue to invest 1 trillion won in content annually, the highest in Korea, and lead the K content ecosystem."

"Although the content industry is rapidly changing, the power of K-content and K-story is well-made content that catches the eyes of global customers. We are confirming the importance of well-made IP," he said, stressing that CJ ENM will be reborn as a "global IP house" with global IP competitiveness based on its strong content production capabilities for 29 years.

In addition, CEO Yoon said, "There are concerns that the past success equation will not be valid due to changes in various paradigms. Therefore, there is a part in the film industry that has to be more cautious when taking a step forward. Nevertheless, I believe in the power of storytelling that moves the world," he said, predicting that he will invest more than 1 trillion won a year in content. CEO Yoon

said, "We will grow together by mobilizing all of our value chain capabilities so that the imagination of creators with great ideas can shine," adding, "Korean movies are in crisis, but I think there must be an opportunity in them."
