On the 18th, British fashion magazine i-D released an interview with Rosé. In this interview, Rosé brought up the process of working on her new album, thoughts on criticism from the public, and even talking about Newzins.
First of all, Rosé said that the process of working on the new album was a "healing process," adding, "The album work was the only place where I was able to stay sane. I felt like I was in my mother's arms," he said.
He then explained the album's track "Number One Girl" and confessed his experience of being overly conscious of the public's gaze. Rosé said, "I couldn't fall asleep until 5 a.m. thinking about what people would think of me and what they would say about me. I hated myself so much," he confessed.
In addition, Rosé said of the album, "I want you to show me that I'm the same person as you. I'm just a normal 27-year-old Asian woman," he stressed.
When asked about the conflict between Hive and Min Hee-jin and Newzins in the interview, Rosé said, "I want to talk positively." He then expressed his affection for Newzins, saying, "I really love those girls," but avoided direct mention of the conflict.
