"2024 Bongsan Mask Dance, gather together!" and will be held at Namsangol Hanok Village from the weekend (5th).

The National Intangible Heritage Bongsan Mask Dance Preservation Association (Chairman Yoon Ki-jong) will hold the 2024 Bongsan Mask Dance Festival to inform the world of the history and excitement culture of Bongsan Mask Dance.

The 2024 Bongsan Mask Dance, which will be held at Namsangol Hanok Village from this weekend and holiday (5th to 6th), is an event to promote Bongsan Mask Dance, a traditional Korean culture, and this year marks the second time following last year.

The festival will feature a variety of performances and experience programs centered on the traditional Bongsan Mask Dance, which will be decorated as a cultural event where family visitors and foreign tourists can enjoy together.

Bongsan Mask Dance is a mask dance that has been handed down to Bongsan-gun, Hwanghae-do, and is a representative game of Haeseo Mask Dance. In 2022, it was listed as 'Korea's Mask Dance' on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Among the 18 mask dances nationwide, it is recognized as the representative mask dance of Korea for its most energetic movements and witty jokes.

Recently, BTS and Lee Hyo-ri have attracted attention from overseas as they have performed K-pop performances using Bongsan Mask Dance. Accordingly, the theme of this festival is "The Beginning of K-culture, Bongsan Mask Dance," which reinterprets Bongsan Mask Dance, Korea's representative mask dance, with a modern sense to promote the charm of tradition to domestic and foreign visitors.

Various events will be held, including Bongsan Mask Dance Performance, Bongsan Mask Making Experience, Traditional Craft Experience, K-fashion shows based on Bongsan Mask Dance, and Dilbongsan Mask Dance Parade, the highlight of the festival.
