Israel regarded the Iranian attack as a failure and immediately heralded retaliation.

The possibility of an all-out war between Israel and Iran is growing as even an attack targeting Iranian nuclear facilities is being discussed.

Reporter Kwon Young-hee reports.

[Reporter]
Shortly after Iran's massive missile attack, Israel held a security meeting and immediately warned of retaliation.

[Daniel Hagari / Senior Spokesperson for the Israeli Armed Forces: Iranian attacks will have consequences. We have a plan, and we will act at the place and time we decide.]

Israel and Iran have already exchanged attacks in April.

Iran notified the attack in advance and Israel also limitedly attacked Iranian air defense facilities, but the situation is different this time.

Iran says it has even mobilized much more advanced hypersonic missiles without prior notice.

Because of this, Israel considers the attack a declaration of war.

Moreover, from Israel's point of view, there is nothing rough about raising the level of response.Hezbollah, which was considered the most powerful 'axis of resistance'

, has been hit hard, making it difficult to demonstrate its ability as an Iranian proxy.

The U.S. influence ahead of the presidential election has also significantly decreased.

[Paul Moorcraft / Military Power Analyst] At this moment, the United States has no influence at all. Didn't you all see Netanyahu when he spoke at the United Nations in complete disregard of the call for a ceasefire?]

The worst is for Israel to target Iran's nuclear capabilities.

There are already fears of an attack on the Natanz enrichment facility, which is at the heart of Iran's nuclear program.

In this case, Iran could retaliate again, leading to an all-out war between the two countries.

Israel has already declared to the international community a major retaliation.

[Danny Danone / UN Envoy for Israel]: We will act. Iran will soon feel the consequences of their actions. The response will be painful.]

Depending on the level of Israeli retaliation, the possibility of a fifth Middle East war cannot be ruled out.
