Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, told British Ambassador to Korea Colin Crooks that the security issue on the Korean Peninsula is getting serious and asked Britain to pay attention to peace on the Korean Peninsula.

Lee met with Crooks, who came to the National Assembly as a precaution, and said that the Korean Peninsula is becoming very unstable and the risk of war is increasing.

He then mentioned the inter-Korean communication breakdown and noted that the UK has diplomatic relations with North Korea and is special with South Korea, so it seems that it can contribute a lot to peace and security on the Korean Peninsula.

Ambassador Crooks said that the conflict in the Middle East is worsening day by day and Russia's new imperialism threatens Europe and the security of the Korean Peninsula, and that countries such as South Korea and Britain, which believe in democracy, human rights and equality, should cooperate.
