Prosecutors criticized Lee Hwa-young, former vice governor of peace in Gyeonggi Province, for appearing at a National Assembly hearing yesterday and claiming that he was cajoled and pressured during the prosecution's investigation, calling it a rehash of false claims.

The Suwon District Prosecutors' Office pointed out today (the 3rd) that the former deputy governor Lee's claim itself has no consistency and credibility, such as reversing his statement on the time or place of drinking after claiming allegations of conciliation of prosecutors' drinking alcohol in the past.

He pointed out that if such false claims were accepted, the results of the first trial, which was sentenced to nine and a half years in prison for its involvement in the alleged remittance to the North by Ssangbangwool Group, would have been different.

He added that he admitted to himself that he could change his statement depending on his gains and losses or political situation, even after former Deputy Governor Lee's remarks at the hearing that he changed his testimony to protect Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea.
