"Khamenei warns Hezbollah chief of Israeli assassination plan"

Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei has warned Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, who was recently killed in an Israeli attack, in advance to evacuate in preparation for Israeli airstrikes, Reuters reported.

A senior Iranian official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Khamenei had sent an envoy to deliver such a message after the explosion of a number of radio callers by Hezbollah members on the 17th of last month.

Khamenei said Israel was trying to assassinate Nasrallah with sources inside Hezbollah, the official added, and advised Nasrallah to evacuate to Iran.

The message was delivered by Abbas Nilforushan, the deputy commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guard, who died in a bunker with Nasrallah during the Israeli bombing, Reuters said.

A senior Iranian official also explained that Khamenei had been evacuated to a safe zone in Iran after Israel killed Nasrallah, and that he had also ordered a retaliatory attack on Israel.
