Korea-ASEAN Army Chief of Staff to Hold First Meeting in Daejeon

The Army held the first ASEAN-Korea Army Chief of Staff meeting in Daejeon today (3rd) to discuss the direction of cooperation and development under the theme of strengthening strategic networks at the ground level.

The meeting was attended by Army Chief of Staff Park An-soo, as well as high-level officials from ASEAN countries, including Malaysia, the Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Army Chief of Staff Park An-soo stressed that as South Korea and ASEAN are very closely linked geopolitically, strengthening strategic networks at the ground military level is very important for solving security challenges.

He added that the Army will cooperate with ASEAN countries that operate Gunsan weapons through customized defense cooperation and operation, and follow-up support such as training and training of maintenance personnel.
