Kim Yo-jong, vice chairman of the North's ruling Workers' Party, sarcastically called the Armed Forces Day event "a poor act in front of a nuclear power."

Vice Minister Kim made the remarks in a statement titled "Is it a show of strength by a group of people or a funeral procession by a colonial army?" released to the Korean Central News Agency today.

He also referred to Hyunmoo-5, saying, "It is a weapon that is uselessly large and has proved itself that it cannot cross the inferior wall of the fateful power of a non-nuclear state."

Regarding the appearance of the U.S. military strategic bomber B-1B at the event, he mocked that "the South Korean commander-in-chief respectfully stands in line and pays homage" as "a famous scene that can only be produced in colonial Korea."
