Shigeru Ishiba's approval rating, which was launched on the 1st, rose significantly from that of Fumio Kishida's cabinet last month, but it was lower than immediately after the inauguration of the previous administration.

The Yomiuri Shimbun, the largest conservative daily newspaper, said that a survey of more than 1,000 voters on the 1st and 2nd in the wake of the inauguration of the Ishiba Cabinet showed that the approval rating of the Ishiba Cabinet was 51%.

This is more than twice as high as the 25% approval rating of the Kishida Cabinet surveyed from the 13th to the 15th of last month, but it is lower than immediately after the inauguration of the previous new government.

In particular, the Yomiuri survey found that the approval rating was the lowest when the new Cabinet was launched for 15 years since 2009.

Yukio Hatoyama's Cabinet approval rating was 75% in 2009, Yoshihide Suga's in September 2020 was 74%, and his Cabinet approval rating in October 2021 at the time of the Kishida administration was 56%, higher than the survey.

The Nihon Keizai Shimbun, along with TV Tokyo, surveyed 785 people aged 18 or older on the 1st and 2nd, and the approval rating of Ishiba's cabinet was 51%, the same as that of Yomiuri.

Nihon Keizai also reported the lowest approval rating ever immediately after the inauguration of the regime, as of 2002 when the current method was introduced in the polls.
