Harris has a 3% lead in the national poll...Trump ahead of Rust Belt

More than a month before the U.S. presidential election, national polls show Harris leading, but Trump leading in northern contending states, respectively.


According to a three-day survey of 1,600 adults nationwide by the British weekly Economist from the 29th of last month, Harris' approval rating against Trump was 48% to 45%, with Harris gaining a 3%p advantage within the margin of error.

When asked to expect a presidential candidate to win the presidential election, apart from their preference for a specific candidate, 40% of respondents picked Harris, while only 35% picked Trump.

Among female respondents, Vice President Harris was 10%p ahead, but former President Trump was 4%p ahead in a male respondent survey.

Meanwhile, polls by pollster Trafalgar Group in the Rust Belt contenders Michigan and Wisconsin showed Trump ahead of Harris by 2.2%p and 1.1%p, respectively.

In Michigan, Trump and Harris' approval ratings stood at 46.9% and 44.7%, while in Wisconsin, they stood at 47.1% to 46%.

In Michigan and Wisconsin, 3.5% and 3.1% said they would vote for a third candidate, respectively, while 4.9% and 3.8% said they had yet to pick a candidate to support.
