Did the prosecution request an arrest warrant for Koo Young-bae, CEO of Q10?

[Reporter]
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office's Anti-Corruption Investigation Division 1 filed an arrest warrant for Koo Young-bae, CEO of Quten, Ryu Kwang-jin, CEO of Timon, and Ryu Hwa-hyun, CEO of Wemakeff, at around 5:30 p.m. today (4th).

It has been about two months since the formation of a dedicated investigation team on July 29, and the seizure and search of CEO Koo's residence, Quten Group offices, Timon and Wemakeff offices on August 1.

Prosecutors say representatives of Quiten, Timon and Wemakeff have sought arrest warrants considering the gravity of the matter comprehensively, saying they are feared to remove evidence or flee.

The prosecution charged them with fraud, embezzlement, and breach of trust.

First of all, Timon and Wemakeff are accused of operating a "turn-off ceremony" by luring users with low-cost discount events, even though they knew their financial conditions were deteriorating to the point where they could not settle their sales.

In addition, affiliates such as Timon and Wemakeprice are suspected of using 67.1 billion won of sales to acquire other companies such as U.S. e-commerce company Wish.

Affiliates such as Timef are also accused of causing losses worth KRW 69.2 billion, such as supplying work to affiliates in the name of management advice.

Earlier, the prosecution called Koo Young-bae, CEO of Q10, as a suspect twice on the 30th and the 2nd of last month.

During the investigation, CEO Koo reportedly denied the allegation of fraud.

It is said that the statement was made to the effect that it was only part of the company's strategy for growth and that it did not maintain the operation with the intention of not returning the settlement. The interrogation of the suspect before the arrest of the representative of

, Ryu Kwang-jin, and Ryu Hwa-hyun is expected to take place as early as next Monday.

We will deliver it again when the exact warrant review schedule is set.
