Kim Tae-won, director of Netflix's content team, expressed his concerns about the skyrocketing cost of actors.

Park Hyatt Busan, Haeundae-gu, Busan, where the 29th Busan International Film Festival will be held on the afternoon of the 4th, held the "Next on Netflix: 2025 Korean Film" event, which will look back on Netflix Korean films this year and pre-show public works in 2025.

Director Kim Tae-won of the content team, who is in charge of films and series at Netflix's Seoul Office, as well as director Yeon Sang-ho, director Nam Goong-sun, director Byeon Sung-hyun, director Kim Byung-woo, director Lee Tae-sung, director Han Ji-won and director Kim Tae-joon participated in the event to share stories about the next film and discuss the vision of Korean films.

In particular, at the event, actors' performance fees in the content industry continue to rise, and the production cost of the work is also increasing.

Director Kim expressed concern, saying, "Korean contents are doing well and succeeding globally, but such an increase in production costs will return as side effects and reactions like boomerang."

In response, he said, "I am thinking that it would be a good way for the work to pay the appropriate performance fee according to the appropriate budget," adding, "We have not set guidelines or regulations, but we are internally considering the appropriate performance fee for the work."

The content industry is paying attention to whether Netflix will be able to open a new door at a time when actors' fees are soaring and production of works is not revitalizing.
