The fireworks festival held in Yeouido, Seoul attracted well over 1 million people, according to the organizers' estimate.

Fortunately, the event ended without any safety accidents, but again this year, there was a huge pile of trash left, and the disappointing sense of citizenship raised eyebrows.

Reporter Lim Sung-jae's report.

The autumn night sky in Yeouido, Seoul, is colored with colorful fireworks.

Every time a bundle of picturesque fireworks shines through the park, visitors pour out admiration and cheers.

They are busy pressing the shutter of their mobile phone on each flame and keeping it as a precious memory of their family and lovers.

[Lee Ji-young, Ha Seung-won, Ha Kyung-tae / Jamsil-dong, Seoul: I come to see it every year, but I think I come to see it every time I see it because it gets more colorful and cooler.]

[Kim Do-hyun and Jung Hwa-young / Gimpo City, Gyeonggi Province] Fireworks were amazing. / It was kind of cool to see it explode. / The most impressive thing is the national flag. / It felt kind of round.]

As the festival, which lasted more than an hour and a half, ended, visitors left one or two seats.

Many people clean up the mats they sat on and clean up the food waste they ate, but

[Lee Seung-don / Bucheon City, Gyeonggi Province: Trash, I'm on my way to clean up what I ate. / Anyway, it's a public place where a lot of people come, so I don't think I should throw away trash....]

The chronic problem of garbage neglect and speculation, which raises eyebrows every year, has also been repeated.

Disposable cutlery such as discarded wooden chopsticks and paper cups, as well as disposable mats, were thrown away in places on the lawn of the park.

After watching the fireworks festival, he left the park without arranging his seats.

[Gu Jajun / Gongdeok-dong, Seoul: There are a lot of people who throw away trash. I think we need to talk in advance. He just left the seat next to me.]

Large garbage collection nets were flooded with plastic bags and paper boxes thrown away by crowds.

[Han Jeong-won / Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province] If you look behind you, it's not organized, and there's a lot of trash on the street, so it doesn't look very good.]

The fireworks festival ended without any accidents.

More than 3,400 safety management personnel were deployed by the organizers, and police and local government officials who were trying to prevent accidents were busy everywhere.

"To line up, go to the back."

In addition, there was no major confusion on the way home as the majority of citizens participated in the control and order of vehicles around Yeouido Hangang Park.
