At around 12:40 p.m. yesterday, a male hiker in his 50s was rescued from eating the root of a poisonous herb, the horseshoe flower, at Mount Garisan in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province.
The hiker, who showed signs of paralysis, shortness of breath, and decreased vision, was taken by air force helicopter to a nearby hospital.
The fire department explained that the root of the horseshoe flower is a poisonous plant that has been used as a poison material in the past.

At around 12:40 p.m. yesterday, a 25-ton truck driving on the road in Wondang-dong, Jeonju-si, Jeollabuk-do, caught fire.

The fire department, which extinguished the fire in about 50 minutes, is investigating the cause of the fire in detail.

At around 4:10 p.m. yesterday, an SUV hit a telephone pole in a market alley in Sajik-dong, Busan.

Police said the man did not drink alcohol and explained that the traffic was blocked by the accident vehicle, causing inconvenience to citizens.

A woman in her 80s was burned by the fire and taken to a hospital.
The fire department believes the fire started with a short circuit from a pepper dryer in the warehouse.
