Local officials say a fire broke out at an oil storage in Peodosia, on the Black Sea coast of Crimea, as a result of a drone strike by Ukraine.

On the 7th of local time, Reuters and other media reported that a fuel tank caught fire following a loud explosion in the Peodosia region, citing local officials in Crimea.

Local officials said a fire broke out in some of the oil storage, but so far there have been no casualties.

Russia's Defense Ministry claims its air defense unit destroyed 21 Ukrainian drones over Crimea territory.

Crimea was forcibly annexed by Russia in 2014, which invaded Ukraine in 2022 and continues its war, making it a supply and rear point.

Earlier, Ukrainian forces have been attacking energy facilities in mainland Russia ahead of the winter season, including an airstrike on oil reserves in the Russian state of Voronesi on the 4th.
