Fishing boat fire at Gunsan non-reaction port...one dead and one seriously injured

A fire broke out at around 5:30 p.m. today (9th) in a three-ton fishing boat anchored at Bireung Port in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do.

The fire killed a man in his 60s who was a shipowner and seriously injured a crewman in his 30s from Indonesia.

The lights went out in about 20 minutes.

The fire department and the Coast Guard are investigating the exact cause of the fire based on the crew's statement that the fire broke out due to an explosion on the bow side.
