One out of six Lebanese residents have fled the country.

According to the U.S. daily New York Times on the 9th, Imran Riza, the U.N. humanitarian coordinator in Lebanon, said at a press conference that the number of refugees is estimated to be at least 900,000.

Considering that Lebanon's total population is about 5.4 million, about 1 in 6 people have fled.

Liza Coordinator said there were more than 600,000 displaced people in the country and 300,000 more refugees evacuated from Syria, Iraq and Turkiye.

The United Nations says more than 185,000 refugees have flocked to 1,000 shelters in various parts of Lebanon, with the majority exceeding capacity.

As about 75% of public schools have been converted to shelters, the opening of the new semester, which was originally scheduled for the 14th, has been pushed back to the 4th of next month.

Israel's wave offensive has turned the southern border of Lebanon, which is considered a key Hezbollah stronghold, into ruins.

Israel has now ordered evacuations of a quarter of Lebanon's land and continues its attacks.
