A court sentenced an aunt in her 40s to a heavy sentence for throwing her 11-month-old nephew to death in a high-rise apartment.

According to News 1 today (10th), the Daegu District Court's first criminal department (Chief Judge Do Jeong-won) sentenced his aunt A (42, female) to 15 years in prison and ordered a five-year probation for throwing her 11-month-old nephew to death.

A is accused of visiting an apartment in Daegu where his younger brother and wife live on May 8 and throwing his 11-month-old nephew B out of the veranda on the 24th floor to death.

When his mother C was holding B, A said, "I want to hug you, too," and C locked the new visit, where C was briefly away, and committed the crime.

At that time, A reportedly changed the method of crime because he thought that if he committed a crime with a weapon in his bag, he could be found and failed.

A was usually on medication for anti-social personality disorder (psychopath) and depression, but he did not take medication on the day of the crime.

At the scene of the crime, A said abnormal things to B's mother, such as "I euthanized her," and "I will kill her sick even when she goes to the hospital."

The prosecution judged that A's crime was planned and asked the court to attach a location-tracking electronic device for 20 years and 10 years in prison and observe for 5 years.

The court ruled, "The victim, who was unable to communicate his or her intention, died in pain, and the victim's mother was hurt in her heart and will live in pain."
