Yes, the summit, where the leaders of 10 ASEAN countries gather together, has been underway for three days since yesterday.

President Yoon Suk Yeol attended the ASEAN meeting this morning and agreed to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership between our country and ASEAN, and adopted a joint statement.

The president's office explained that it has established a top-level partnership 35 years after establishing relations with South Korea and ASEAN.President

Yoon said he will pursue comprehensive cooperation as a partner in common prosperity.

I'll listen to it myself.

[Yoon Suk Yeol / President: Korea and ASEAN will make a new history together. As Korea continues its ASEAN-oriented diplomacy, we will promote all-round and comprehensive cooperation as a partner for common prosperity."

As a concrete measure for this, the first ASEAN-Korea defense ministers' face-to-face meeting will be held in November, and the ASEAN-Korea think tank Dialogue will be launched next year to cooperate in responding to the trade environment.

In addition, we plan to expand our cooperation to political, security, economic, social and cultural fields by promoting training programs for 40,000 ASEAN students over the next five years.

And when will the Korea-Japan summit begin?

It is expected to be after the ASEAN+Korea-China-Japan summit this afternoon.

It will be the first Korea-Japan summit in nine days since Shigeru Ishiba took office as Japanese Prime Minister.

A high-ranking official in the presidential office said that the leaders of Korea and Japan are meaningful in continuing the purpose of so-called "shuttle diplomacy," and predicted that discussions on the development of relations will take place.

He also explained that he will talk about how Korea-Japan relations will start anew next year, which marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations.President

Yoon will attend the ASEAN Conference from today to tomorrow and continue his diplomatic steps by holding bilateral talks not only with Japan but also with Canada, Australia, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand.
