Han Seung-won, the father of novelist Han Kang, expressed his feelings that he was "flustered because the chance of winning the Nobel Prize was slim."

Han Kang's father, Han Seung-won, held a press conference at his writing room 'Haesan Cave' in Jangheung, South Jeolla Province.

When Han Seung-won heard the news of Han Kang's Nobel Prize in Literature, he said he thought it was "fake news" because there were many leading candidates for the Nobel Prize in Literature at home and abroad, and his daughter was young.

"Daughter, Han Kang's sentence is very delicate, beautiful and sad," he said. "The British translator translated the Korean language of the 'Vegetarian' book deliciously, which helped him win the Nobel Prize."
