A warehouse manager in his 40s who was arrested for stealing billions of cash from a rental warehouse in downtown Seoul was handed over to prosecutors today.

The police are also continuing to investigate the source of the 6.8 billion won in cash that the victim had been keeping.

Reporter Yuh-hyun, the thief who stole billions of won in cash was handed over to the prosecution today?

Yes, A, a warehouse management employee in his 40s who was arrested for stealing at least 4 billion won in cash from a rental warehouse in Songpa-gu, Seoul, was handed over to the prosecution this morning.

When asked by reporters about the details of the crime, Mr. A only replied that he was sorry and that he was wrong.

Let's listen to it for ourselves.

[Mr. A / Suspect of theft: (What did you plan to use the stolen money for?) I'm sorry. (Family members have been mobilized. Is there another accomplice?) I'm sorry. (Are you sure you only stole 4 billion won?) I'm sorry.]

On the 27th of last month, the police received a report that 6.8 billion won in cash stored in the warehouse had disappeared.

The culprit who was caught in five days was a warehouse management employee A.

A admitted some of the charges, saying he decided to commit the crime after he accidentally learned that the victim had a large amount of cash in the warehouse.

However, the police are also investigating the exact amount of damage, claiming that the stolen money is only 4 billion won, not 6.8 billion won.

Mr. A was found to have committed a meticulous crime by filling his bag with paper instead of the cash he stole at the time and damaging the CCTV hard disk.

The stolen money was hidden in a building in Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do, and the police booked A's mother for helping in the process.

I'm also interested in cash sources.

The victim stated that 6.8 billion won in cash was divided into six carriers and stored in a warehouse.

But while stealing the money, A left a note saying, "If you pretend you don't know who I am, I won't say anything either," raising questions about what it means.

However, Mr. A and the victim claim that they do not know each other.

Police are checking the source of the funds, even leaving open the possibility that they may have been involved in the crime.

The victim, who identified himself as a self-employed person to the police, reportedly has not yet clearly explained where the money came from.
